It can be challenging to choose your wedding recessional song, so we put together a list of things to consider:

1. Reflect on your unique love story. Think about what genres you both enjoy and what songs resonate with you as a couple. Your recessional song can carry symbolic meaning in the lyrics, hold a special memory, or be something completely new that you find together.
2. Think about the mood you want to create. Do you want to have a grand exit as newlyweds? Do you want to dance down the aisle? Or soak it in slowly hand in hand? Your recessional song should reflect the emotions you’re experiencing as newlyweds.
3. Think about your venue. If your ceremony is in a traditional church, your recessional song selection may be different than if you are exchanging vows in a contemporary venue.
